A strange thing happened to me on the way to the forum today...
B4 Passat: Turn it off, leave a bit, come back and try to start the car (or just turn it off while sitting in it) then go to start it and it won't! Pull the key out and the "alarm" starts beeping the horn. It won't stop untid you put the key in the door, lock then unlock. The.n it will start normally.
My wife said the door locks' vacuum pump had been running on recently. Can a vacuum leak be the cause of this? I never have figured just how this alarm system is supposed to work. The only other thing we found that sets it off is if you open the door, through an opened window, while it's locked.

TIA
     Loren

That's a very tempting ride. I wish I had an extra few grand to play with as I
could use a summer car. Good luck on the sale, and may she go to someone who
will love her as much as you do!
