Just wanted to let everyone know that I have sold the GTD to a guy just getting out of the Military. It will be gone by the end of the month. It was fun but this old body needed to go in a different direction - 2015 Jetta SE TDI. 150hp, water cooled intercooler, DSG transmission, Tornado Red (considering the weather around here for the last few days, that may be a prophetic color) and just fun to drive. I got 3 years of maintenance for free (includes the first DSG service) and about $3k worth of dealer installed stuff for free. I have just over 2100 miles on it already and it is been completely steady at 43mpg plus calculated. I have noticed that the car MPG is really optimistic in its figures. My calculated MPG are 3-4 mpg less than what the car has.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel is still purring away with over 22 mpg in town driving. Funny thing happened to my wife yesterday. She had gone to Taco Bell and was waiting for her order when the message center in the dash suddenly said the it was undergoing a DPF regeneration cycle and she should continue to drive the car until she got a further message. Although I knew it would happen sooner or later, she didn’t know about it. Car has 16500 miles on the odometer and this is the first time it has regenerated. Hope all is well with everyone, I have noticed almost no traffic lately so that is another reason to make this post. Hayden
