I too was beginning to wonder if the list was still working, especially considering a couple members have contacted me about having problems posting.
Yesterday I got the MF 135 almost out of the shop! Earlier this year it got a new PS pump and some little things, including replacing the 1 wire alt with the original. A month or two ago I finally pulled it back in for the badly needed clutch. There are theoretically 3 clutches, soft, medium and stiff. We did the soft one last time since Dad's 90 now. It made it a couple weeks before starting to slip but did make it through harvest and barely plowing this Winter. Turns out there are 3 clutches that FIT but only one correct one, the middle. The soft one is for a 35 I believe and the stiff one is for something much bigger. Most of the rebuilds use stiffer springs, it seems, in the middle clutch; only 6 of them too, instead of 12 factory pressure.
I ordered 12 factory springs and rebuilt it to OE spec now, so it should hold as well as be lighter pressure than the mid, rebuild (they only offer the mid NOW!)
It ended up with a new nose piece, paint, decals, steering wheel, seal in the steering shaft, nuts welded on for some of the sheetmetal parts and a scratch built, new wiring harness. I was able to start it and let Dad drive it to the house to show it off. The regulator isn't working right so as soon as it warms up a little, the voltage just keeps climbing. It smelled a bit when Dad got back but it seems to still be ok. So, I need to adjust or replace the regulator, adjust the clutch fingers (Dad had the lower cover on it before I realized it hadn't been done yet) and get his racing stripes painted on. His maiden run was nearly full throttle in high gear so, it's appropriate!
FINALLY all the tools are put away and the shop is mostly cleaned up. :-)
