[Vwdiesel] Been a while

I'm helping friend diagnose the second blown crown and pinion on his WRX. I pointed out to him I've never lost a final drive on a vw, not even at 500+ k... Nice car, but for a rally car lineage, man is it fragile. I guess for rally it's like a stock car.  Nothing's stock. Okay, maybe a tie rod.  hmmmm.  nope.
BHW was a really good engine, just extra tall, and have to toss the balance shaft module and go to jetta oil pump and drive, and windage tray.  You shoehorn one into a bus Jason? Dang, that would go.

Unfortunately, the Passat was not a manual but a DSG. Not really a problem but the rest of the car didn’t really check out. 

Maybe a nice TDI Sportwagen will pop up. Great to have with the newborn!

It’s between that and a WRX. Both have their strong merits.
