I think that is wonderful news, the importation of the Coupe S2.  As a
*very* happy owner of a Coupe (S1?), I'd even consider a trade-up. But...
I believe the dealer is doing a snow-job on the $30K+ range.  I believe it
will be *very* +!  Since list on the Coupe was $30.7K (I paid $26.5K though)
I would suspect that the S2 could be no less than about $40K list, with maybe
a discounted price of $37Kish.

But, if the deal is right and it's only in the 30-35K range, then... there
are going to be many more of them on the road.

The writeup in CandD made it sound wonderful, eh?

the dealer here thinks it will be imported, but is not 100% sure.  it
will cost in the $30K+ range.  I'm quite optimistic myself, since
audi brought in the 200 quattro 20 valve, of which probably no more
than a couple of thousand were made world wide.  i've learned from
someone in germany that the current 100/200 series have ceased
production and the new model is getting very good reviews all over
europe.  anyway, the S2 complies to US EPA requirements completely,
so it won't be too difficult.  it will also be a good model to
enhance audi's performance image.  i think it will make it here.
