Query about different models' features

I've been lurking on this group for a while, since I don't actually
own a quattro - yet. Realizing that it would stretch my resources to
buy even a bottom of the line quattro 80 new, I've decided to get a
somewhat used mid-line model, either the 90 or 100.

So, to help with my decision on what to buy, I'm hoping one or
more of you enthusiasts could summarize the major features and
differences in the 90's and 100's of around '88-'90 model years.
I want info on major features (ABS, engine differences, etc.),
whether I get anything above the 80, and some thoughts on reliability.
