You didn't say what year your Coupe is.  If it is '85 or greater,
maybe even '84 (bottom line: if your relay & fuse box is under the
hood) check the relays for the fuse box.  I had a problem with
corrosion in there on my '85 Coupe GT which resulted in a whole
mess of problems with the brake/blinker lights.  However, I just
pulled the relays and sanded them a bit and also pulled the
receptacles and worked on them, and everything worked out great.
I didn't even have to spend any money. {<VBG>

Another place I had problems were the rear blinker units.  These
are
are one piece black units that are really easy to pull from inside
the trunk.  I had a lot of resistance that melted some of the casing,
again due to bad contacts.  Again, I just took a bit of metal 
sandpaper and cleared the problem up.  No money, again, either. <V,VBG>
