Depending on how long the 'generic' stuff has been in there, you may not
be able to correct the problem.  The red stuff, eats thru the seals of
the rack and pinon systems, and also many seals and gaskets of the 
Hydraulic pump. 

To drain, diconnect the hose from the Fluid tank, and allow it to drain.
The second part will be more difficult.  You will need a powerful vaccum pump.
Avail at most hardware rental stores.  You will then need to connect the
pump to removed hose, and suck out the remaining fluid.

This proceedure will not drain 100% of the old fluid, but should do a
90% job.
