Yeah, the Audi Sport Quattro is the short wheelbase version of the original.
this was done to keep up with the Puegeot 205 T16 and the Lancia Delta S4
But the best most powerful version of the Quattro rally car was the
Audi Quattro S1 based on the Sport, it had a HUGE wing in the back, a big
air dam in the front aand with skirts and also huge Flares for the fenders.
This was driven by Walter Ro"rhl ,Stig Blomqvist, and Hannu Mikkola...
Rumours have it that when it was first introduced it was putting out
ONLY 550 Bhp.. later versions have supposed to put out over 750 Bhp.....
In fact, When Michele Mouton drove the quattro at the Pikes Peak Hillclimb,
she had the option of getting an engine with an output of 720 Bhp.. which
she chose not to drive... instead she drove one with ONLY 550 Bhp....
Some of the Best cars ever made......
Oh on a side note, if any of you have a measly $150,000 lying
around, there is a street version of the Audi Sport Quattro for sale...
