Re: insurance on 93 90s

I used to have Allstate. I was paying about $3000/yr to insure an '88 90Q
in New York City. I got into an accident (a car hit my rear quarter panel
and crunched things up good) that took $7000 to make (almost) right again.

After the $1K deductible (ouch!), Allstate made me pay another $800 in
"betterment".. i.e. pro-rating certain parts that needed to be replaced.

After that fiasco, I checked out other rates. I ended up insuring with
Geico for $1800/yr. The problem with Geico is that they will drop you if
you get too many speeding tickets (ie more than one).

I think that the experience you have with your insurance company depends
a lot on your agent, and the local adjuster they decide to use.

Also, as far as combination home/auto insurance: they usually give you a break
on the home part, not the auto.
