Tyres for a Coupe Q 20V

I've recently acquired a 1990 Coupe Quattro 20V. Not only is it a
great drive (lots of power, grip etc. - pity about the feel of
the steering), but it's reasonably roomy and it looks stunning too!
However, it will need of a new set of tyres fairly soon and I was
wondering what other people's recommendations would be.  The English
climate is such that we rarely get extreme weather (it just rains all
the time :-) and my priority would be for maximum wet weather grip.

At present it's running on what I take to be the original set of
205/55 Dunlop SP8's.
