Ah, I'm a happy camper now!  Took it back to the tech before the
weekend and they found the culprit.  It was some switch near the
fuel injector lines that got bumped when they had replaced the injectors
initially.  They replaced the fuel filter for me initially anyways but
that wasn't it.   They didn't charge me a thing since it was their 
mess up!   Cool.  Now that the car runs fine, my folks took it :-(

The crankcase breather was replaced because the old one was
leaky.   My car only has 40K miles on it.  The previous owner never
changed the oil for the turbo so it got thrashed.  If you change your
turbo charger oil every 3.5K miles, you should have no problems.
