I believe the "play" in the strut bearing is normal (I would like to know
why). My 84 4000Q has the infamous 1/4" gap between the top plate and the
body. Thought it was all screwed up until I consulted the manual/dealer
and then saw it on others as well. BTW, alinement should be ok, as long as
the vehicle is level and on it's wheels.
