Yes.

I never asked him. Keep in mind, however, that my head is an EXTREME
example of what can happen if you lose a valve spring. All I can offer
in the way of advice is to make sure to pull your valve cover IMMEDIATELY
if you have any sign of a miss at a particular RPM (mine missed at idle)
or hear the valves tapping long before they should need adjusting.
