If your CS is like mine (non-turbo) or like earlier years, the ballast
resistor is mounted on the frame rail in front of the radiator. You
take off the plastic access panel from the top, remove 3 screws and
3 wires to get to it.
When the resistor blows, the symptom is usually a fan that only works on high
speed.
I picked up 2 resistors at a junk yard for $5 apiece. Installing one
restored a quiet driving experience; I keep the second as a backup.
