5 cyl air filter?

I quickly tried to tackle this on the Audi 90 - can it be that
difficult?  I undid the clips like on the Jetta, lifted the FI
unit and...ok, let's remove these 2 little screws, a plastic cover
with clips, and an air duct hose.  I got the old filter out OK, 
but there is not enough clearance to lift/tilt/whatever the FI unit
so I can install the new filter.

Can someone who has done this let me know the trick?  I glanced
at Bentley, but as usual the 2x2 micropictures were useless.
I may look at it early tomorrow AM, otherwise I'll have to do
it tomorrow night (I'll be away tomorrow).
