I too, want more power! I have heard of using shims for preloading the
wastegate spring. I am not sure how thick these need to be to make any
difference. The other day, I put a couple of homemade shims from some
heavy duty aluminum foil (start thin to be safe!). Well, I don't think it
made any difference. I'd try to make one from some sheet aluminum, but I hear
there are some shims that are used in the auto x-mission that work great.
I just re-read an old post by Glen Powell about changing the spring preload
by using the adjustment screw. I looked at the cap on my wastegate and
it looks like the piece there is pretty solid (ie. no adjustment). Details!
