I transcribed a superchips promo sheet a few months ago which summarized
what the basic mods were.

The chip "leans out" the mixture, not enrichs it.  Apparently, Audi had a
problem with cat. cons. burning out under WOT for extended periods (lean =
heat).  So, they enriched the mix to have a lower temp burn and used the
unburned/poorly burned fuel to help cool the exhaust.  Also, 90+ octane
fuel is *required* allowing larger timing advances.

However, the lit. says that the chips are available for Bosch Motronic
system.  Which models have that?  My '88 had the KE-3, I think, which is
not a Motronic system (is it?).
