It is my suspicion that the original oil Audi uses in the transmissions is
SYNTHETIC. I changed the oil in my 5-speed 016 box, and nopthing seemed to
change in the behaviour. However the oil that came out had a different
SMELL from regular dino-juice, and SMELLED similar to the MOBIL1 75W90
that I put in to replace it.

The bottom line is that synthetic works real good, at least as good
as the original.
