what additional traction?  the original quattro koop started out as a
fwd car that couldn't put 200 bhp onto the ground effectively, which
is what motivated 4wd.. for the 911 i really see no lack of traction.
the harder it accelerates, the deeper it digs in, does it not?  

if you go back and read the rags of the late 80's during the 959 era
you will find that the original goal of going 4wd for the porsches
was to cure the sting in its tail.

i scanned a whole bunch of 4wd articles in once.. i don't know if
they are still online.. the porsche engineer clearly says this as
i recall.

it just means you're not gassing it enough.. :)  (or should i say
lifting off at the apex?)

i wouldn't mind having a C4 if i could afford the insurance.. or
rather if i could muster up the will to give so much dough to these
bloodsuckers..
