Hell, any wuss can drive a *Mid* engined toy... (he said with a smile
*prominently* displayed on his face)

Can you say "Unvarschienlich"? (That's serbo-croation for "Not-freakin'-
likely", boys and girls..) ;-)
(Boy, does this pose a dilemma! What's a kinder, gentler euphemism for *butt
Ugly*...) Ummmm, er... Ignoring the fact that the 914 was not only (KGE),
it has a frame unkindly disposed to "Crack" in the middle; there's the
fact that it was offered with a 2 liter 901 series 6 cyl in 1970. The sad
fact is that it was not a 911. To wit, it was a low-end, vw designed product.
No offense, but the market spoke. Thumbs down! (Not withstanding that, most
survive; neat cars and *very* competitive on a track near you!)
Perhaps you meant to say that if the 911 had a mid-engine, they might have
lasted for 30 years, and not disappeared, back in... Say, when did those evil
beasties disappear, anyway...???
NO! NO! Put that jacket away! I'll go quietly now, officer...
