Re: Audi factory visit info
Hidy, Ho Bart,
I came back from my month of exile in Chippewa Falls, Wi, only to leave
for Calgary, Canada. I am departing Calgary tonight (Friday) and
hope to be home tomarrow around mid-afternoon after an overnight in
Toronto.
Sunday would be great for us, and I'm cetain Jeane would love to get out
of the house. Will Sunday work for you?
She could not travel with me because she is still on her single entry
tourist visa. Leaving the USA for Canada would spell doom for her.
We are expecting the justice Department to issue her Alien fiance visa
sometime next week. I have jumped through more hoops than a I care to relate.
Your magazines are stacked and ready to go home.
I was surprised that on of the Colorado Quattro Daves did not write
about the Brainard event. While the thought of the 3.8 RSR was still
disturbing my sleep pattern, I visit Brainard and low and behold is a
3.8 RS, YIPES!!!
This car is one TUFF M.F. I believe this car to be made on holly ground.
It absolutely blasted out of the turns. It was of the point and shoot
variety. I guess if I want one under the tree, I better get a big one.
This is one car I *would* paint my name on the door. :^)
Here I go again...Hang on while I get my medication.
Whew... (Wipes his brow) ok, I'm alittle better now.
The CEO for Target stores brought his 930 which had been converted to
a VERY SERIOUS club racer. Did I say VERY SERIOUS? I meant way cool,
oh, so, big $$$ serious. The front hood had been carved up for coolers
similar to the front of a 962 where it slopes down from the windscreen
and then has a a large void with a cooler sunk in, and then the hood
continues down to the 934 style front valance/bumper. It was not a
slant nose. Who says you can't outrun the police radio?
I was told he had a 650hp "Le Mans" engine, but I did not see any Andial
stickers which would have given me goose pimples. To his credit, it
did go and sound just like the old 935 racers from the mid-70's.
A couple of Anal Retentive C2 owners were there, who if had seen me
arrive in a >C2 Porsche product would probably have talked to me.
Oh, well.
I should be home by 1600 Saturday, so feel free to give me, or Jeane a
call at (301) 890-8447.
Talk to you later,
Mike
