Well...I have a '90 Coupe Quattro, and the other night I went and drove a
'95 90 Sport, non-quattro just for fun.
The 90 Sport had better acceleration than my Coupe, obviously because of the
larger torque curve of the V6. The handling was better than a stock Coupe,
but I've put springs and shocks on mine. The thing that amazed me about the
90 Sport was the quietness inside. This, again, probably has to do with the
V6 being a smoother and quieter engine than the 20V five. Interior was
typical Audi, very nice. They have done away with the trip computer, and
you get an outside temperature monitor. Leather is an option, and you get
the automatic climate control. Quattro is a $1500 option.
I still don't know why Audi doesn't massage the V6 slightly to get 200 hp,
then it would be a great car.
If I was going to spend $28K for a new car, I would definitely consider this
car. But, how does it stack up against a 91 20V Turbo wagon, that can be had
for around $23K these days?
