Dear nivi@aol.com,
I put on H&R springs with Koni Sport shocks. It lowered the car about 1.25
inches. The handling is vastly improved over stock. You can feel road
bumps a little more, but it is not unacceptable. I'm very pleased with the
way it turned out.
I did a fair amount of research before I went with the setup I have. I
looked at an Abt kit, but price ($1300) was too high. Also, it lowers the
car about 2 inches, which may be fine for California, but not here in
Colorado. Sachs makes a "Sporting Kit", but it was about $900. Eibach
doesn't make springs, but what some have done is use four front springs for
an 83-85 TQC. For shocks, you are limited to the Koni Sport, and Boge. I
wanted a firmer feel than what the Boge's would give, so I went with the
Koni's. Bilstiens are only available as part of the Abt kit. The Koni's
are adjustable, but must be removed from the vehicle for adjustment. I went
with the "middle" setting.
If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me. I'll be out of the
office next week, I just _have_ to go to France for business.
