Valve cover gaskets

If, it hadn't been so dark, if I hadn't been so tired, if I hadn't been in
so much of a hurry,  I'd have noticed that the valve cover studs on my 4000Q
had a shoulder at the base. I would also have noticed that the gasket was
not going to seal.

The rubber gasket I bought has metal grommets that slide over the studs on
the head. Seems there are two styles of these studs. Those with shoulders,
and those without. The gaskets are sold as having either a 6mm or 8mm hole
and are available in either rubber or cork. 

BTW, Does TSP take oil stains off a garage floor?  Any reccomendations?
