just found out that the new C4 adds 110 pounds of extra weight over the
C2, compared to 180 pounds for a torsen quattro.  i strongly suspect that
the C4's front drive hardware is not as strong as the previous C4, which
is how they saved weight and inertia.  it's a tradeoff for sure but like
i've indicated in previous posts i have mixed feelings about this move and
the porsche engineers probably had a lot of arguments among themselves
too. all that effort that went into the 959 and now this... :)
