Brake lights won't work...Help?

Car: 88 5000tq
Symptom: Brakes lights don't activate when I depress the brake pedal
Fuses: all intact
Bulbs: all intact, including the center mount brake light
Possible diagnosis (please correct me if I'm misguided)
	a) Some kind of switch under the brake pedal
	b) Brake light control unit in trunk
	c) other?

Any Net wisdom would be most welcome, I have to drive 400ish miles
starting tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.  Thank you!
