I did exactly this, and one day the craftsman 17mm socket broke while
trying to loosen one of the lugnuts. I replaced it with an impact socket
and amazingly that broke eventually as well. The lug wrench that came with
the car is stupidly short, but it's very strong, so don't throw it away,
keep it in the trunk in reserve for when the socket breaks on you.
