A good idea, even for those of us with no pump problems. Is there
a recommended technique? , I'd be reluctant
to turn the pump over much with disconnected hoses.
When I got my car two years
ago I drained and refilled the reservoir. As I later found out
when I replaced the rack, the reservoir holds something like
just half of the total system capacity, maybe less if one considers
the pressure accumulator and brake servo. Is there an easy place
to drain the system and empty more than the reservoir?
BTW, for those who want to drain the reservoir - I found it
easiest to disconnect a hose at the pump. You will need two
new compression washers for every hose you disconnect.
