I found it interesting that even dyed-in-the-wool Honda fans shunned
the Vigor--the car's glaring deficiencies were like a wet toilet seat
on the much-extolled throne of what is Honda. The press could not
really afford to write anything bad about it; they stood to lose the
then-largest advertising account in the history of auto advertising.

The only way to get a fair review of a specific Honda product is to
read about its deficiencies when the new model comes out: e.g. "the
new Accord exhibits none of the prior model's pitching and
cork-screwing motions on bumpy roads", etc.

What's really funny is how dated a Vigor looks now. Amazing that they
still sell it.

BTW, FWIW, I found the non-turbo Audi 5-banger to be better than
any four of equivalent year, and much better than a four of
similar displacement.

I found Volvo 850 5-banger to be extraordinarily noisy and with little
low-end torque.
