I'm the one that posted the original.  The bottle  that I was using had 
methyl hydrate in large letters on the front.  It's not until you look at 
the small print on the side do you find the words "contains methyl alcohol"
I guess this stuff is also good for fondues which sounds like the only 
good use for this stuff for me now.
