Boy, am I glad to see you people.

I'm now owning and operating (daily and hard) a 1988 Quattro Turbo 2.2 Coupe in
the Midlands of England. This is not proving easy - the local dealerships are
the next thing to useless and documentation is hard to find. Not only that,
but the RHD models are a bit rare and some parts are hard to find. I recently
had to have a left-hand (adjustable) track rod MADE by the factory.

It died on me yesterday, in the outside lane of the M3 motorway at speed.
First the rev counter flickered madly, then the oil light came on followed by a
host of other electrical phenomena. Over an hour's work finally revealed that
one of the earth straps to the inlet manifold had failed.

Anyway - can anyone help? At present, the 'glass cockpit' is registering
255mpg and predicting a fuel range of 1515 miles - obviously, the control unit
is not registering fuel consumption? Where is this likely to be?

My biggest single problem is a lack of documentation - I'll go some GETs today.
