Re: New member
>My biggest single problem is a lack of documentation
Welcome. It is exciting to watch as this this list gets more members from
around the world. Now if we could only get a few folks to join up from each
of Audi's engineering departments........
I'm sure you are familiar with the Haynes books since they are English,
after all. The best thing about the Haynes books is that they are widely
available and relatively inexpensive.
The best documentation in the states is the "Official Factory Service
Manuals" published by Robert Bentley, Inc in Boston Massachusettes. These
are as big a telephone books from a large city and are well worth the $100+
(depending on model) price. They appear to be based on factory manuals from
the Fatherland, and are available here from the dealers and from third party
parts sellers.
I believe that there was (is?) at least one book store in England that
carried the Bentley books. Its been more than 4 years since I was fortunate
enough to have regular business trips to England, but I think that the name
of the shop was "Motorhead Books." It's in London.
