Fascinating. My 80CD (4000CD) has WAUZZZ81CA155405. I KNOW this is an '82
model built in December 1981 and first registered in January 1982.
So the 'G' in my "1988" ur-quattro means 1986, not 1988. This explains a
curious endorsement in the vehicle's registration documents - "Declared new at
first registration in Great Britain by manufacturer." I've never seen this
note on vehicle registration documents before - do any other UK quattro owners
have it?
