RE: Blower motor woes

It's one of two things: The blower itself has worn brushes, or the electronic
speed controller is bad.

The spped controller is mounted on a big heat sink inside the air intake plenum
chamber (near the A/C evaporator under the plastic cover under the hood (pass
side). It's real easy to replace, but tuff to test without a new one .

The blower can be tested by removing the plastic black cover thingie under the
hood. Toward the rear of the blower housing, there is a "vent" hose. Pull this
hose off and look inside at the brushes with a light (not a match). With the
car off, try to spin the rotor to get it off the stuck spot. Turn on the fan
and see if it works. If it does, the blower motor is bad and must be replaced.
Also check older threads about this topic. It's been discussed here many
times.
