re: 5000 Radiator...

Hello,

My 86 5000CS T radiator was seeping last year so I replaced it with a
"New" German made radiator from Halsey for $205. I'm sure the radiator
could be repaired with a new plastic tank on one end or fixed with some
epoxy but many times the aluminum portion is corroded and weak and the
other plastic end is probably brittle from the thermal cycling. I think
there is a rubber seal between the plastic and the aluminum that gets hard
and leaks as well. If you plan on keeping the car for awhile I would just
replace the whole thing with a new plastic/aluminum version or get the
brass replacement that some radiator shops have. Just my $0.02 worth

| There is no need to replace rad!!! Take it out and give to a
| reputable rad shop for repair. The rad shop should be able

| The cost to repair my rad was approx. $140.00.

| Also, if it were me, I would not want the life of my turbo

| fix breaks
| and the turbo melts down!!
