Phil, I found your comments on the ABS topic very interesting.  One
statement puzzles me, however, and I was wondering if you could
explain it further.

Why did the Audi driving course recommed pulling out the differential
locks (I assume that--like in my 4000Q--this action locks the center and rear
diffs)?  Was this to be done simultaneously with hard braking?
