<O2 sensor not replaced for 60Kmiles, what to do??
There would be, in my experience, very little danger/consequences of not
replacing the O2 sensor if you are in doubt. The car would probably consume
more fuel, produce less HP, produce more emissions, but it probably wouldn't
be noticable to you. It is usually a gradual change. There is a procedure
to check the O2 sensors. If you would like, I'll write it all down and send
it to you. Does your sensor have 2 or 3 wires on it. There is a different
test procedure for each. I might add that the 2 wire sensors are about $60
while the 3 wire ones are about $120-$130. Mine has the 3 wire. (87 4-cyl)
If you haven't yet, pick up a Haynes manual at a local parts store.($12)
They are very helpful.
