     Yeah I checked on that too when mine fell apart.  Seemed to me at the 
     time that the dealer wanted 60 bucks or something ridiculous.  Since I 
     assumed the replacement was cardboard, I balked.  Maybe that's why the 
     passenger footwell keeps clicking and my A/C keeps cycling.

I don't know where the reference is on the net, but when I bought 
my ur-Q the paper box was severely disintegrated (read non-existent 
except for those metal flanges that didn't seem to have any use). 
I ordered replacement parts from the dealer and the parts that I 
received were plastic.  I think this was about in '86.
