'86 quattro

Hello everyone...I'm fairly new to this newsgroup and the internet in 
general so I apologize for any errors and welcome critique. I currently 
own a 90 audi 100 and have fallen for these fine autos...I now have the 
opportunity to purchase a 86 quattro 4000 what should I look out for? any 
peculiarities with that I may have to live with I'm leaning toward adding 
aftermarket goodies for a go fast superhandling machine. From outward 
appearances the car looks good the dealer wants about 4,500 and it has 
about 100,000 miles on the odometer.
