I find that a strange response about the Bilsteins (although strange is the
name of the game often times in this loveable Quattro Digest). My '86 4000
CS Q has Bilstein Sports installed. They've been going strong for 5-6 years
now. It's a great shock, which replaced Fichel & Sach shocks (it was a
package with sport springs) that blew out in the front in 1 year and the rear
in 2 years (rear blow-outs are never fun anyway are they?). If you are
looking for a great price on Bilsteins you need to talk to our BMW guru
friend Carl Nelson of CNPR in San Diego 1/800/ 466-8184. Carl was able to
sell us shocks for far less than our mechanic could buy them for.
P.S. My cat doesn't share my opinion and takes every opportunity to complain
bitterly about it.
