The reservoir on mine wept all the time when I first
got the car : the grommets were all mush. There was
also lots of black grommet detritus in the reservoir
	itself.

Replacing the grommets was actually quite simple on my car ('85
5000ST): yank the reservoir, replace the grommets ($2) and
push the reservoir back on. Have to be careful with
the fluid, of course. While I had the reservoir off, I
cleaned it out thoroughly with soap and water and dried
it overnight and then again with a hair dryer. Put it
back on and refilled it with fresh fluid: 8 months now
	and it's working fine.
