4000q and all later Coupe gt's take the 4X108mm pattern.
Are you ready for this:
Yesterday I had a talk w/ one of my mechanics who also fixes up used VW's
and Audies to re-sell. He showed me an (non-quattro)'86 4000cs 1.8L which
had the 4X108mmm bolt pattern. He also has a 4000s 1.8L which has the
4X100mm pattern. GO figure! He called his parts distributor who said "there
is a difference between the S and the CS. I had always thought S and CS
designations were advertising fluff.
We had a thread here several months ago about some of the different
designations, but I don't recall anyone defining CS. FWIW the window
sticker from my '87 4000CS Quattro says "(SPECIAL BUILD)" right after the
model name. Anyone else still have their window stickers?
