can get external vented battery from the dealer and I believe that 
Interstate Battery makes either an external vented battery or a kit which 
relpaces the standard vented battery caps with external vented caps.

I recently replaced the original battery in my '89 100Q with an aftermarket
battery, following helpful suggestions from this group.  Sears has a DieHard
with vent, as does Interstate and Exide. They are the series 41 "international"
and I found that the Exide offered the most spark for the buck at $56.- from
Battery Warehouse.  My car even starts faster... <g>
