Fun with Fusses..

Hi All!

Rule #1: If you decide you HAVE to have a CD plyr in your new 90 coupe'AND If
after installling it yourself (god knows no pimply faced teenager is going to
tear apart my pride n' joy! Not even the...Ugh..dealer!) all your dash lights
suddenly go out, check the fuse, "Hmmm...Instument cluster etc...looks ok to
me...#$%@!"......Drink heavily..and mumble alot.

Rule #2: Remain calm..Tell yourself "I love my Audi...I love my Audi..." Pull
everything back out. Then check the fuses again....this time check ALL the
fuses. Especially the one marked "license plate light, engine/glove
compartment" Wah..Lah!! You have just found the fuse for the dash lights.
Replace...and presto! Lights! (go figure!)

Rule #3: Tape off The mysterious "always hot 12v plug" dangling open in the
dash. Re-install the new Bluapunkt CD player (with ALL connections heat
shrinked and taped up, even ones cut flush with NO wire exposed). Bam! Tunes
and Lights!...."boy...it's a beautiful thang.." (The wirering harness and
active speaker adaptor from Crutchfield works great..it plugged right into the
stock harness..No cutting! It was worth the $52.)

Thanx to ALL who responded. I really appreciate it!!
