|I don't know the differences between US spec and Euro spec - exhausts?

The reviews I have read say that the motor is quite "tractable" (I think
that is the word?). The torque band is very flat and the motor behaves like
a much larger displacement motor. What I am trying to say is that they say
turbo lag has been completely eliminated, partly due to the five valve
design, and torque is huge right from the bottom of the power band. Much
more power would be possible, but at the expense of torque. Sounds like a
job for 'tuners'.
PS the 90-91 VW Corrado had 158 hp 160 ft lb from 1781cc using a
super-charger, these motors are extremely reliable and only have two valves
per cyclinder ( that's a plus in my book)
Cheers,
James
