I was quoted $5-700 depending upon how much other stuff (manifolds, wiring,
etc.) I wanted ... remember, though, this is for the head only as the block
itself was broken in the wreck and is worthless save for "organ donations."

Same here ... one nice thing about driving older cars is not having to make
monthly payments (of course, now that I think about it, I DO make a monthly
payment the only difference being that it goes to the local Audi dealer and
not to a bank. :^(

Actually, what I was hoping to do was install the 20V head on my 10V block
since it has less than 15k on a stock-spec rebuild done by my parents back
when they owned it. Since this car is basically a daily-driver and I have
several other projects to finance/finish, I'm not interested in doing this
if it will involve a complete engine/computer/etc. swap ... for the moment,
anyway. Looking at the drawings in my Bentley manual and the hulk resting
in the salvage yard got me wondering whether a "simple" head swap might be
feasible but I haven't done the research necessary to determine if it will
work or not ... does anyone have any experience with this? I know it will
not be a straight "bolt-in" job but minor fabrication isn't a problem...
