'88 5kCSQ Wagon rear struts

The '88 has developed a rubber-on-metal creaking noise in the left rear 
quarter area.  I haven't checked into it yet, but I'm assuming that it's 
the strut (i.e. I know it's not the door or the tailgate).  Thought I'd 
quiz the net regarding what's available.  I don't want the wagon to ride 
like the ur-Q, but it would be nice to get something a little more sporty.  

Let me know about any experiences with wagon rear struts, either by direct 
e-mail or posts to the group.  If I get a significant amount of e-mail 
I'll summarize it for the group.
