I was at a PCA event at Bridgehampton one time, and saw a guy do an 80mph
cartwheel in a 944 coming out of the last turn onto the main straight.
Turned out he had a welded ball joint that gave out on him.
Not trying to scare you or anything...
Actually, your suspension geometry is totally different, and it sounds
like the welds won't be bearing much stress, so you're probably ok. Just
thought I'd chime in with a little anecdote there.
