Re: RE: 1993 90CS
i think the north american VW/audi operation is one of the most
incompetent lot of goons i've ever encountered. first they don't want
to bring in the GTI VR6, then they bring it in years later and then
soften the suspension to try to please the refridgerator buyers..
on the audi side, they don't bring in a M3 challenger, don't bring in
the volvo turbo wagon challenger.. (of which they have 3 different
turbo wagon models that qualify) grrrrr. hell, they don't even have a
3 series coupe' challenger. and how many cabrios have they sold? (in
the UK princess Di has one and i hear that it has really energised
sales of the cabrio and audis in general)
no wonder sales are collapsing. the current 90/100/90Q/100Q are fine,
but unremarkable. they don't stand out from the crowd. subaru is
really stealing the limelight these days for all wheel drive
technology.
then we have the 100Q (& wagon) that is so overloaded with junk that
it can hardly move off a traffic light (slush version)... when first
introduced, they mark it up so much that it approaches the S4 in
price.. and pearl white paint cost double on a 100 than it did on the
S4. is that stupid or what?
friends at the dealership tell me that the old v8 will eventually
become much sought after because that may well be the only v8 powered
audi quattro north america will ever see. the a8 is losing big
money even when sold at european prices.. to sell the car here they
would really be slashing their wrists.
